Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus smartphone to launch on July 11: Report
NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently launched its Mi 6 flagship smartphone in China. Now, it seems that the company is all set to launch a new version of the same smartphone. Xiaomi has posted a 13-second teaser video on Weibo, hinting at the launch of the device. The teaser reveals that the device will be launched on July 11. There’s no confirmation as to what will be the name of the smartphone, but rumours have claimed it could be Mi 6 Plus.
According to a report by GizmoChina website, the upcoming handset is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series processor. It is also expected to have a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support.
The smartphone will include an IR blaster, NFC, 4G connectivity and USB Type-C charging port. It will likely have a 22MP camera with 4K recording support. Other specs include a 5.7-inch QHD display and 6GB of RAM. The device will come in 64GB and 128GB internal storage variants, and run Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI 8 skin layer.
Xiaomi India recently revealed that its revenue has risen by 328% on year in the first half of the year. The revenue growth came as the company shipped a record high of 23.16 million devices in the quarter ended June globally, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun said in a letter to employees on Friday. The company now plans to sell 100 million smartphones in 2018.

Even though Xiaomi didn’t give shipment numbers for India, but Counterpoint Research said it ships an average of four million smartphones a quarter.
