Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may launch on August 23
NEW DELHI: Samsung could launch its Galaxy Note 8 phablet on August 23 — ahead of its usual time in early September . According to a report in The Bell, the reason cited for the move was the rapidly declining sales of Samsung Galaxy S8. An early Galaxy Note 8 launch would also give the company a head start over the upcoming Apple iPhones.
The device is expected to be unveiled at the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event at New York. No other information about the device is known as of now. A previous report by The Bell website said that Samsung Galaxy S8’s sales are slower than its predecessor this year. Furthermore, what’s hampering the sales is the recent price cut announced by Apple for its iPhone models.

Talking about the Galaxy Note phablet, a recent report by The Investor website claimed that Samsung could bring the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition to select markets outside South Korea within this month itself. There is no word as to which markets the handset will be made available in first.

Samsung has already sold 400,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition in South Korea. The report also claims that ever since Galaxy Note 7 FE went on sale on July 7 in South Korea, the number of new mobile subscribers has soared up. The Blue Onyx and Blue Coral were the most popular colour variants of the device in the South Korean market.

Galaxy Note 7 FE is priced around 20% cheaper than the original Galaxy Note 7. The difference is that the battery capacity is now 300mAh less and the device now comes with Bixby AI baked-in.
