As per the Eprice report, DJ Koh has also said that after the Galaxy Note 8’s announcement, the first wave of units will be hitting the shelves in September. Some of the first countries to get the device will include the United States, UK, and South Korea. Other countries — perhaps India as well — will reportedly get the phablet sometime in October.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 likely to launch in India in October
Although Koh has not given the date, the ‘late-August’ could either mean the rumoured August 23 launch date or pre-IFA launch dates, which are August 30 and 31st. The company’s other South Korean rival, LG has already sent out invitations to select media houses for a pre-IFA August 31 launch date for its LG V30 phablet.
No confirmed details about the device’s specification are known as of now. However, several reports speculate that it could feature a dual rear camera setup and Bixby digital assistant, which debuted with the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+. It is also likely to sport the ‘Infinity Display’ screen with minimal bezels on top and bottom.
Last month Venture Beat said that the Galaxy Note 8 could be priced around EUR 900 (roughly Rs 72,000). As for the specifications, the device is said to come with a 6.3-inch edge-to-edge AMOLED screen. Furthermore, Galaxy Note 8 with either come with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos 8895 SoC, based on the market. It’ll also have 6GB of RAM, making it the third Samsung smartphone (after Galaxy S8+ 6GB edition and Galaxy C9 Pro) to have this much amount of RAM.
The smartphone is rumoured to sport a 3,300mAh battery.
