Nokia 5 will be available in India by August 15
NEW DELHI: HMD Global launched its three Nokia-branded Android smartphones – Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 – in India last month. While Nokia 6 is an Amazon exclusive, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 will be available in offline stores across the country. But the two smartphones haven’t hit the stores yet.
The company has now issued an official statement, suggesting that Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 will be made available in India starting mid-August this year.

In the statement, HMD Global mentioned, “Currently, we are ramping up our production for Nokia 3 on priority to meet the existing consumer demand. In the coming week, we will start production of Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 to get them ready for sales starting by mid-august.”

On the specifications front, the three Nokia smartphones offer Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box and come with Google Assistant. HMD Global has already confirmed that all three handsets will be updated to Android O later this year.
Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display of 720×1280 pixels resolution. The display is coated with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone sports a 6000-series Aluminium build and comes in four colour variants – Tempered Blue, Copper, Black and Silver.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, it has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB in size. There’s also a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2 aperture, along with an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.
