LG V30 launches in 49 days from today
NEW DELHI: LG seems to have finally confirmed the unveiling date of its flagship phablet, the V30. Smartphone tipster Evan Blass has posted on Twitter what looks like an official invitation for the launch of the handset. The image shows the device’s front panel along with the text “Save the date” and August 31, Berlin, Germany.
It is worth adding that September 1 is the official commencement date of the tech conference — IFA 2017 to be held in Berlin. In what has become a tradition now, companies — LG in this case — launch their most popular products a day or two in advance. The IFA 2017 conference will go on till September 6.As for the V30, nothing concrete about the device is known till now. There have been rumoured specifications doing the rounds on the Web.

According to a recent YouTube video posted by popular tipster OnLeaks, the V30 is shown to have an extended ‘FullVision’ display, similar to that of the G6. It also showcases the CAD design of the smartphone, highlighting the USB Type-C port and speakers placed at the bottom. The SIM tray and the 3.5mm audio jack are on the right and top respectively, while the left has the volume rocker.

A dual rear camera setup is visible on the back, along with a fingerprint sensor below it. The antenna lines are also present on the top and the sides.

One prominent change visible in the video is that V30 comes with a single display, instead of the dual display (with a secondary ticker screen) that its predecessors have. For those unaware, the ticker display on the V10 and V20 can be used to view notifications, set shortcuts for quick actions and more.

This is in line with previous claims made on XDA Developers website. It was earlier reported that even though LG V30 won’t have a secondary display , a small section of its touchscreen could still include the dual-display functionality.

Some of the more definitive specifications of the upcoming V30 could be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
