A decent amount of information has already been revealed about the upcoming iPhone 8, courtesy the new HomePod firmware released by Apple. The latest piece of information once again comes from the firmware, courtesy a developer named Guilherme Rambo.
Rambo says that the upcoming iPhone, which is being tipped as the ‘iPhone 8’, could sport something called the ‘SmartCam’. Although there is no confirmation as to what exactly the feature will do, the developer says that the option indicates automatic scene selection software, something similar to Intelligent Auto mode present in the Sony Xperia handsets.Read more ↓
The ‘SmartCam’ option further mentions several scenes such as Baby, Bright Stage, Document, Fireworks, Foliage among others. This means that the camera will look for these subjects in the image and will adjust the exposure, ISO and focus accordingly.
Another code reference from the HomePod firmware indicates that iPhone 8 might also let users use Apple Pay with face recognition security.
